What Customers Can Expect:
- Visit Home Performance with ENERGY STAR contractors for a complete list of qualified home improvement contractors.
- Georgia Power customers will then be pre-screened for the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program by discussing their home concerns with a contractor.
- After the pre-screening process is complete, the approved contractor determines if a Home Performance assessment is the next step.
Once It's Determined a Home Performance Assessment is Right for the Customer:
- The customer and contractor agree to the initial Home Performance assessment and all contractor fees. Necessary appointments are set.
- The contractor meets the customer at their home to perform the Home Performance assessment which covers:
- A visual walkthrough of the homes' interior (all rooms and interior spaces including the basement, crawlspace and / or attic), as well as the homes' perimeter, looking for areas of concerns.
- A diagnostic analysis will identify whole house infiltration concerns and duct leakage.
- A list of necessary improvements will be provided to the homeowner (listed in order from most cost effective to least). This list may be compiled onsite or mailed to the customer at a later date.
- Once assessment is complete, the customer is responsible for paying the contractor the total cost of Home Performance assessment. The cost of the comprehensive home assessment varies between contractors. Please ask your contractor about the comprehensive home assessment fee.

Disclaimer
The assessment must be performed and the improvements must be completed by a qualified contractor participating in Georgia Power’s Home Performance with Energy Star® program. The contractor may charge a fee for the initial inspection. Determination of eligibility for rebates will occur as a result of the assessment, and all work is subject to third party verification. Any agreement on improvements is between the customer and the contractor. Georgia Power takes no responsibility for the agreement between the customer and the contractor for the improvements. Prices for the contractor’s work are set by the contractor. The full $1900 in rebates referenced above may not apply as the customer’s home may not be eligible for all qualifying improvements. All reimbursement forms must be signed, submitted and reviewed for accuracy before a rebate is paid. Rebates are subject to limitations and are subject to change.
